Date fields vs Scheduling page

Date fields (Date picker, Date time picker, and Date range) collect a date input. Common use cases include:
  • Asking a respondent’s date of birth
  • Collecting project deadlines
  • Gathering travel or vacation dates
  • Tracking project start and end dates
  • Collecting multiple availabilities
On the other hand, Scheduling pages reserve available time slots on an individual’s calendar (Google or Outlook calendar). This article is about date fields. To know more about scheduling pages, check out this guide.

How to add a date field

In the left-hand panel of your form, drag and drop your chosen date field. You can pick between:
  • Date picker - collects a single date
  • Date time picker - collects a date and time
  • Date range - lets respondents select start and end dates in your forms

Change date format and settings

To configure your field settings, click its settings icon . In the right-hand panel, you can:
  • Set a default start and end date
  • Change the date format and first day of the week
  • Add a minimum and maximum range respondents can choose from

On a Date time picker, you can also set:
  • Time Format: 12-hour (with AM and PM) or 24-hour
  • Step Size (Minutes): the time intervals respondents can pick, like every 15 or 30 minutes
  • Minimum Time and Maximum Time: the earliest and latest time respondents can pick
To stop respondents from picking past dates, click the plus icon in Minimum Date and pick Today. Earlier dates are grayed out in the calendar. To block future dates, do the same in Maximum Date. The date format you choose is also used for date answers in your email notifications.

What date fields can’t do

  • You can’t turn off specific days of the week, like weekends or Mondays. To offer only some days, use a Scheduling page and set your availability there.
  • Each field has one minimum and one maximum date, so you can’t block several separate ranges.
  • Date conditions in logic work with date fields. To use a date from a URL parameter in a condition, pre-fill a date field with it first.

To gather several preferred dates and times from respondents, add several Date time picker fields to your form.

Add a Date field

Follow the step above.

Select an integration

Click Integrate in the top menu and choose a Zite database, Airtable, Notion or another database.

Map fields

Under Mappings, choose the fields you want to save the start and end dates to. Reference your integration fields from the left to Fillout form fields on the right.

Pre-fill dates

Set the default value to today, tomorrow, or another date.
