Overview

A quick comparison between the two is Fillout lets users manually build forms with structured fields and logic, whereas Zite lets users build custom AI-generated apps for more comprehensive and advanced use cases.

How to build an app in Zite

On your dashboard, describe the app you want to build. Zite will automatically generate one for you. You can make changes anytime with prompts, selective edits, and theme customization. Check out our quick guides here.

Rebuild a Fillout form as an app

In the side menu under Fillout, open My forms or the Fillout workspace your form is in. Click the three dots on the form, then Rebuild as app. Form menu on the dashboard with Rebuild as app You can also do this from inside the form: click the form’s name at the top of the editor, then Rebuild as app. Form name menu in the editor with Rebuild as app In the form editor, you’ll also see Turn this form into an app suggestions, for example in the field list, on the cover page and login page, in workflows, in the update record integration, in the Form Agent’s suggestions, and in the Logic window, where the Need help? Ask me! badge has a Rebuild as app option. They all open the same Rebuild as app window. If you can’t create apps in your organization, you don’t see these suggestions. In the Rebuild as app window:
  • Workspace - choose New workspace or an existing Zite workspace. If the form saves to a Zite database you can edit, that database’s workspace is selected for you, and the app saves new responses to the same table. Otherwise, New workspace is selected.
  • Style - Auto lets Zite design a new look, or use your Brand kit.
  • Anything to change? - optionally describe changes, like one question per page.
  • What gets imported - shows how many questions, pages and endings are copied.
Click Build app. Zite opens the app builder in that workspace and builds an app with the same questions, logic, and submit actions. Publish the app when it’s ready. Your form stays live and unchanged. Past responses aren’t copied into the app, and existing integrations, like Zaps, keep pointing at the form.
