Once everything is set, click Publish to make your form live. You can’t add rows in advance. The table opens with one empty row, and respondents click Add to add more. There’s no limit on the number of rows.
How table answers are saved and sent
In Results, a table answer shows as a small table. Double-click it to see the whole table. When a table answer leaves Fillout, its format depends on where it goes:- CSV export - the whole table goes in one cell: the column labels on the first line, then one line per row, with values separated by commas.
- Google Sheets and email notifications - the same text, in one cell or one line.
- REST API, webhooks and Zapier - a list of rows, each with the column labels and their values.
- Make - a collection with typed columns (date, number or text).
Table vs choice matrix
With a table, you can add different types of question fields, such as text, numbers, or dropdowns. In contrast, a choice matrix is limited to using only radio buttons for tasks like rating, comparing, or selecting options within a grid.
